Who Comes to Meet You?
A prompt and a story for you!
Pause.
Invite your body to soften.
Connect to the energy in your heart,
and envision a landscape.
What do you see?
Take a look around,
explore wherever you find yourself,
allow the scene to shift if it wants to,
and open your curiosity to wonder,
Who is visiting now?
What being calls me from this landscape?
Are they human? non-human? elemental?
Who comes to meet me here?
I recently met a new dream companion, a wise one by the name of Daisy Pearl. A border collie dream blend, the essence of two different dogs I’ve known combined into one, owned by an adventure woman taking me on an epic drive. And though she has an owner, Daisy Pearl is a dog who moves with sovereignty. She sniffs beyond walls and gazes out over water, picking up the past, future, and alternative timelines of any moment by scent.
She is a courageous leader who I am lucky to be able to follow.
How will her sense of adventure guide me through life in the coming years?
The answer is still unfolding, but in her presence I can feel the rumblings of something breathless within me.
What’s significant, also, is that Daisy Pearl may not have become such an exciting new guiding figure in my life if I had never taken the time to tend to the dream she visited through. She would have faded to a blur of memory.
But I chose to notice her.
And in offering her my own witnessing presence, her vibrancy came to life.
Her innate wisdom would not be able to inspire action in my daily life,
if I hadn’t taken the time to step into relationship with her.
