Dream FAQ's
So you’re wondering about Dreams and Dream Work…
How should I select what dream I want to work with?
Notice which dreams naturally have a pull on you~they stick in your mind throughout the day, or you feel particularly curious about certain aspects of them, or they elicit a strong emotional response in your body. Know that even the simplest dream can hold a lot of potency. You also don’t have to make a decision on which dream to share at the time that you book a session. So trust that whatever dream you choose to share at the time of your session will be the right one.
Does it matter how old the dream is?
No! We can work with a dream you had last night, or the first dream you ever remember having, and anything in between! During our session, we may consider the timing of when the dream came in your life if that is something significant to you. But otherwise, dreams have a way of moving in a different experience of time than our waking life reality of linear time.
What if I can’t remember my dreams?
You don’t need to remember your dreams from sleep in order to engage in a Dream Session—when was the last time your waking life felt like a dream? Or when waking life felt like a nightmare? We can also work with these experiences in the same way we would work with dreams from sleep.
And also, there are many ways to begin training yourself to remember dreams. These few tips will get you started:
Keep a dream journal, and jot down notes in it as soon as you wake up, even if you can’t remember much. Try to do this before even getting out of bed or checking your phone in the morning.
Before falling asleep at night, set an intention that you will remember your dreams.
If dream journaling is difficult at first, experiment with speaking your dreams into a recorder, spending time feeling into the sensation a dream leaves behind in your body, or sketching/painting any shapes, colors, images you can recall from dreams.
